Dogs Running at Large within City Limits

We have received numerous complaints about dogs roaming within the city without being leashed or under the control of their owners. If you see an unattended dog, please contact Goodhue County Sheriff Dispatch and provide a description of the animal along with its location. Reporting these incidents helps establish documentation of the problem. Although deputies may not always be able to locate the animal when they respond, the report allows them to monitor for repeat occurrences and determine whether there have been other complaints involving the same dog. 91.02 DOGS AND CATS.
(A) Running at large prohibited. It shall be unlawful for the dog or cat of any person who owns, harbors, or keeps a dog or cat, to run at large. A person, who owns, harbors, or keeps a dog or cat which runs at large shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
